As anyone in this field knows, the need for Mask Layout Design support is cyclical. One minute you have all the resources you need, the next minute you are scrambling to find enough resources to do the job. When I find myself in this situation, I know who to call. Directions Engineering has consistently come through for me. Recently I needed to find several qualified RF/Analog Mask Layout Designers and I needed them onsite as quickly as possible. I called Directions Engineering and within a week I had the resources I needed. Quality is certainly a big issue as well. There are many folks out there who misrepresent themselves. Both the contract agency and the contractors can claim to have what you need and then fall short. The type of work my group is responsible for is very RF/Analog intensive. It requires quality talent and accurate representation of skills. When I call Directions I know I will receive a number of resumes to review and I can feel confident that what I am reading accurately represents the individual being considered. One fact that makes it possible for Directions to provide such a high level of support is the number of contractors they represent.
