Southern California Openings for IC Layout Designers
Senior level RF/Analog Full custom layout. 5+ years of full custom experience is a minimum. Candidates must be highly experienced with layout matching techniques and block level floorplanning. A good understanding of issues such as device and routing parasitics, antenna rules and the manufacturing process is expected. Understanding of Cadence VXL, Assura and Calibre is required along with excellent communication skills. Speed and accuracy is the goal.

Arizona Openings for IC Layout Designers
We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for layout of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits on modern Analog CMOS, PowerSense BiCMOS, Bipolar, and High Voltage processes. Responsibilities also include timely and accurate layout verification (LVS), and design rule checking (DRC). A qualified individual will be familiar with basic physical semiconductor concepts, and be able to use modern layout tools to apply those concepts to real designs. The layout designer will work closely with design engineers using Cadence and/or Mentor Graphics design tools to create next generation products with off-line (AC/DC) and consumer and industrial DC/DC power management emphasis.
-Associate degree in Semiconductor Mask Design or Equivalent thereof and 5+ years of directly related experience.
-Competency in the use of silicon CAD tools including Cadence and/or Mentor Graphics tool suites in the UNIX and/or Linux operating environments.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Should be able to work independently and be self motivated, as well as seek out and work well under the direction of design engineering.

RF circuit designer developing WLAN radio cards for low cost, high volume manufacturing based on the customer's MIMO OFDM chipsets. Candidate would be responsible for the design and test of radios to meet 802.11a/b/g, FCC, ETSI, and client's system performance standards.
The successful candidate should have solid design experience and thorough understanding of communication circuits and systems for Wireless LAN in the 2.4 and the 5GHz frequency bands. Theoretical and practical knowledge in high-linearity RF circuits and power amplifiers is preferred. Good theoretical and practical knowledge of Antenna radiation and EM propagation is also key to the position.
Candidate should be well-versed with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and OFDM signal generation/analysis (VSA) and have comprehensive laboratory experience debugging and analyzing RF circuits and subsystems.
Candidate will also test and qualify radio components such as synthesizers, LNAs, PAs, filters, diplexers, baluns, and antennas. Will also work closely with the RFIC, System, and PCB layout groups to optimize product cost, yield, and performance. Several years of direct experience with low cost TDD radio designs, OFDM, FCC/ETSI regulations, and the 802.11 standard are highly recommended. Experience with AWR Microwave Office, ADS,Serenade, HFSS, Orcad, Allegro, and AutoCAD design tools is also desirable.

Load-board Design Engineer (long term contract or contract to direct position)
As a member of the Digital/Mixed Signal IC Test Development Engineering Team you will be responsible for the design and debug of high speed digital and mixed signal ATE test PCB/load boards. This includes requirements gathering, schematic capture component placement, layout review, production, verification and trouble-shooting.
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years Hardware Design experience including PCB design and the following skills:
* Good understanding high speed board design issues including transmission line effects, high speed PCB design issues and solutions.
* Experience in managing transient response and de-coupling issues in Automated Test Equipment environment with remote power supplies.
* Experience in Analog/Mixed Signal circuit design, load board design for ATE test and trouble shooting desirable.
* Knowledge and experience of end-to-end PCB design and fabrication process and materials, component selection and assembly requirements. , including
* Ability to work under minimum supervision as part of a larger team.
* History of not only identifying technical and process related issues, but also suggesting and implementing solutions
* Experience desirable in use of PCB design tools such as Mentor, Pads, Board Station RE, Hyperlynx, ICX, OrCad or Pads schematic capture and layout checking for manufacturability (Valor, CAM350).
* Proven ability to write technical documents and to communicate technical information
Additional Skills:
Experience ATE environment. RF design experience. Bench test experience (TDR, VNA etc.)
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering/Physics or equivalent and four years experience required, Master's in Electrical Engineering preferred.
